Kim Joyce -- In The Beginning
Kim Joyce is an American R & B singer, songwriter and producer. She was born March 27
in Detroit, Michigan. Kim began singing at a young age in her Father’s church in Detroit, Michigan.
Kim was an enthusiastic participant each Sunday and her interest in music led her to piano lessons so
she could assist her Mother on the piano as well. As her music talent flourished, Kim realized that
she had talent to become a professional musician. However, her dream had to be put on hold.

During Kim Joyce’s tenure at OSU, she spent her time writing music and produced as many beats as she could when
home in Detroit. During this time, Kim produced beats on Frooty Loops, MPC 2000, a Motif Workstation, and Reason 3.0.
In 2005, she wrote a song with an alternative feel and was introduced to a band named LaQuest, joining them as their
lead vocalist. During this time, Kim taught herself to play the guitar, adding to her live music toolkit.

the Chicago Caribbean Festival (2007). In addition, she has opened for Eric Roberson, Brian McKnight, Lil’ Wayne,
Pleasure P and PJ Morgan to name a few.
